As the weather gradually turns warm, people become more willing to travel. Many have planned to travel during the Spring Festival. The number of visitors to 25 popular attractions of Taoyuan City has exceeded one million for two consecutive years. During the Chinese New Year holidays in 2024, the total number of tourists has exceeded 1.6 million, while the average daily visitor has exceeded 230,000, an increase of approximately 10,000 visitors compared to the same period in 2023.
Smart and thoughtful travel services can be offered through cross-department collaboration. The flow of crowds at scenic spots was effectively diverted.
To provide the public with convenient and relaxing travel experiences, Department of Tourism, Taoyuan City Government set up 16 high-definition live cameras and 25 crowd alert signals at popular attractions offering real-time information to the public so that they can avoid going to congested areas. During the Spring Festival, the real-time video was viewed more than 245,000 times, while the crowd alert signals were viewed 7,000 times. The police department also implemented crowd control based on the crowd alert signals. Cross-department collaboration effectively eased the flow of crowds at scenic spots during the Spring Festival.
