Taoyuan and Ishigaki Signed Tourism Strategic Partnership Agreement

In 2024, Ishigaki, Okinawa Prefecture of Japan signed the tourism strategic partnership agreement with Taoyuan City Tourism Development Foundation, in which both parties have committed to promote the reciprocal development of tourism in both cities, conduct exchange visits regularly, and build strategic partnership.
Special Cooperation to Deepen Exchanges
Ishigaki is known for its magnificent natural landscapes such as Kabira Bay, snorkeling and Ishigaki beef, while Taoyuan has rich cultural and natural spots such as coastal dunes and Daxi bean curd.
The agreement urges the two cities to carry out exchanges on the art of tofu. Ishigaki displayed their traditional performances and made Okinawa tofu. Both parties integrated resources and information regarding mascots, accommodation and souvenirs to enable participants to obtain information about promotions and travel.
Develop New Perspective on Tourism through International Cooperation
This is the first international tourism partnership agreement signed by the foundation. Both parties cooperated at Daxi Bean Curd Festival. Representatives from Ishigaki invited residents in Taoyuan to admire Kabira Bay, savor their special dishes and experience the culture of Ryukyu in the city.
The delegation of Ishigaki visited Daxi Old Street and attended the bean curd festival. Additionally, to connect the features and cultures of the two cities, both parties had dance and singing performances during the international exchange. The foundation will continue to integrate the needs of both parties to promote tourism in Taoyuan.
