In January 2026, nearly 300 plum trees across Jiaobanshan Residence will come into bloom one after another. Snow-white blossoms adorn the branches, and a light, elegant fragrance fills the air - creating one of northern Taiwan's most representative winter flower-viewing scenes. The Jiaobanshan Plum Blossom Festival will be held on four days - January 17, 18, 24, and 25 - inviting visitors to welcome the Lunar New Year amid the scent of plum blossoms.
Diverse Activities for an Immersive Plum-Viewing Experience
A range of signature experiences will be offered during the festival. Highlights include the "International Tea Ceremony Under the Plum Trees," which blends Japanese, British, and European floral and fruit teas with local tea culture - inviting visitors to savor tea amid the blossoms. The "Plum Blossom Market" will feature 22 stalls showcasing distinctive agricultural products and handcrafted foods from along the Northern Cross-Island Highway. On site, calligraphers will also write and give away Spring Festival couplets to add to the holiday atmosphere. The opening ceremony will feature performances by local school groups in succession, showcasing the area's multicultural character.
Local Dining Arrives: A New Slow-Living Spot
During the festival, "Fanshu Teng Nature Café" will officially open within Jiaobanshan Residence Park. Centered on the idea of "eat local, eat organic," it will offer organic brunch, coffee, and herbal teas, along with specialty pastries incorporating local plum flavors - bringing visitors a mountain-forest experience that combines sustainable dining with a relaxed pace.
Festival-Only Offers with Nearby Partners
The city government has partnered with 34 businesses and attractions across the Jiaobanshan, Luofu, and Xiao Wulai areas to roll out festival-only deals from January 17 to 25. Visitors can download the digital discount DM at the on-site service desk, then redeem special offers at designated shops or enjoy exclusive packages at Luofu Hot Spring; discounted ticket prices are also available for Xiao Wulai Scenic Area.
In addition, the Yunei River Hot Spring Winter Carnival will run concurrently from January 10 to February 1. Complete a stamp-collecting activity at designated attractions to redeem a themed limited-edition towel and a wish plaque.
