The brave challengers cycled through Da-Long-Men (Daxi, Longtan, and Shihmen Reservoir) despite the wind and rain
Department of Tourism, Taoyuan City Government held a new kind of spring cycling event for the public to explore the Northern Cross-Island Highway in 2024. The event ran for two days. For the first time, the Da-Long-Men family-oriented cycling route across Daxi, Longtan, and Shihmen Reservoir was chosen. It was hoped that the new route will encourage more cyclists of all ages to join the event and become Taoyuan’s "cherry blossom warriors"!
For the first time, the Da-Long-Men route from Daxi all the way to Shihmen was launched. Starting from Cihu Visitor Center, after passing through the old Baiji Tunnel, the route follows along Huanhu Road to Yishange of Shihmen Reservoir. It is suitable for beginners and families with children. You can enjoy the reservoir scenery along the way. After the ride, you can enjoy local delicacies at the fish restaurants. After the meal, consider visiting Daxi Old Street, Daxi Tea Factory, Longtan Shihmen Mountain, or Sankeng Eco Park. In the future, the city government plans to incorporate this route into its cycling tour planning. It is hoped that citizens will become fonder of low-carbon tourism and lifestyle, cyclists will have a wider selection of cycling routes, and the beautiful nature of Taoyuan can be further promoted.

This cycling event has entered its 9th year. On the first day when registration opened, the event was fully booked. About 400 warriors attended the event, and a total of 249 warriors successfully completed the ride, concluding the 2024 event.
