2025 Taoyuan Future Tourism Forum
On August 21, 2025, the Taoyuan Tourism Development Foundation hosted the 2025 Taoyuan Future Tourism Forum at Hotel COZZI in Taoyuan City, convening international experts, scholars, and industry leaders to explore how artificial intelligence can deeply empower the tourism sector and map out a forward-looking blueprint for Taoyuan's smart tourism development.

International Perspectives: A Lineup of High-Profile Speakers
The forum featured prominent guests from Japan who shared hands-on experience across multiple dimensions. A representative from the Osaka Tourism Bureau analyzed operational insights from hosting Expo 2025 Osaka. A representative from Don Quijote's overseas business division shared an innovative "store-as-destination" model, using integrated data to make retail spaces attractions in their own right. A representative from the Cabinet Office of Japan's Cool Japan platform discussed how AI can connect traditional culture with future technologies. A renowned film and television director also offered creator-side examples of how screen productions can spark tourism interest in real-world locations. In addition, experts from management consulting, the entertainment industry, and the field of food sustainability contributed further perspectives.

Local Tech in Practice: Real-World Applications
The forum also spotlighted Taiwan's local industry practices, spanning development experience for one-stop AI travel-planning apps, applications of shared-mobility technology, smart hotel management, strategies for online travel platforms, and travel e-commerce operations - highlighting the depth of energy across Taiwan's tourism technology sector.

Core Theme: AI Reshaping the Tourism Ecosystem
This year's forum centered on AI's comprehensive applications in tourism, including personalized itinerary planning, intelligent customer service, phygital experiences, and data-driven precision marketing. Participants explored how Taoyuan's diverse cultural foundations - such as Hakka heritage and the cultures of Indigenous Peoples - can be translated through AI and IP into compelling travel stories, further strengthening Taoyuan's distinctive position on the global tourism map.

With the gateway advantage of Taoyuan International Airport and a strong technology-industry base, the Taoyuan City Government is actively advancing its smart tourism initiatives. Through forums like this, Taoyuan aims to further deepen industry exchange and lead its tourism sector into a new AI-driven era.
